The Oaks

This is the story of a band, a hair product and a sponsorship deal told through the music, songs, album covers, cuttings, videos, films and other ephemera of folk phenomenon 'The Oaks' - A fictional folk band created to promote VO5 Casual Control, a hair product designed for the more controlled folk head.

The perfect craft opportunity - Make a fake band 'real' by bringing to life the back catalogue of four musos. Dating from 1862, where lead Mick's great grandfather played harmonica in the US civil war, it tip-toes past Dylan's acoustic betrayal and arrives at the present day, where folk wannabes 'Wood' rename 'The Oaks' to secure fame through a sponsorship deal.

'Trouble' was released on iTunes and featured in an episode of Channel 4's 'Hollyoaks', the teen soap VO5 were sponsoring.

And finally, a few idents - One hip folkster keeps his head, while all about him are losing theirs.
